Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Care Service Availability and Delivery in Public Health Facilities of Plateau State Nigeria

To assess the availability, accessibility, appropriateness and quality of adolescent sexual reproductive health (ASRH) services in primary care (PHC) facilities Plateau State, Nigeria, a cross-sectional study was conducted 230 PHC across three senatorial zones state. Primary data were obtained through face-to-face interviews with heads from December 2018 to May 2019. An adapted questionnaire World Health Organization (WHO) used, covering five domains, ascertain extent that ASRH available provided. Very few state had space (1.3%) equipment (12.2%) for services. The proportion offering counselling on sexuality 11.3%, safe sex 17%, contraception 11.3% management gender-based violence 3%. Most not operating at convenient times adolescents. Only 2.6% posters targeted just 7% PHCs staff trained ASRH. These findings underscore majority surveyed lacked dedicated space, basic equipment, essential ASRH, which turn negatively affect general public specifically, maternal indices Nigeria. Structural changes, including implementation policy adequate additional training healthcare workers, are necessary effectively promote
